Operation
In the TAM sand washer, solid particles settle to the bottom of the device. Almost all heavy solid particles and other materials adhering to them settle at the bottom. The washing process is based on countercurrent washing. Through countercurrent washing, all material lighter than sand is removed from the mass settled at the bottom.
Light material is carried away with the wash water back into the purification process of the treatment plant. At the bottom of the washer, there is a certain amount of sand all the time, and the excess part is removed with a screw conveyor. The washed sand is transferred, for example, to a waste container. During transfer, water is separated from the sand, and the final product is dry and clean sand with a loss of ignition of less than 5%.
