TAM Wash Press VP200 Vortex

The wash press is a device designed for washing the screenings from wastewater treatment plants, with the task of removing organic sludge from the screenings.

The wash press is typically installed immediately after the step screen. The transfer of screenings can be done either by falling directly from the step screen or by conveyor.

The TAM VP series wash press has a frame made of stainless steel or acid-resistant steel.

  • The frame includes connections for the screenings to be washed, the supply of wash water, and the discharge of reject water.
  • Inside the frame, there is a screw that transfers the screenings to be washed from the drop section to the wash section and through a transfer pipe to a waste container.
The wash press has a perforated structure inside, allowing wash water to exit the device. As the screw rotates, a brush on the screw keeps the perforated structure open, allowing wash water and organic material to exit the device.

Wash operation is activated after a certain number of working movements, for example, after 5 step screen movements for inlet screenings. During septage sludge reception, wash operation is active throughout the reception time.
